The 3PM Dispatch RoboCop, Noah, Fantastic Four, Jackie Brown 2

Russ Le Roq Could Be Noah. Or RoboCop. Or Both...
Russell Crowe is at the center of two major rumours doing the rounds today. First Deadline reported that director Darren Aronofsky is interested in casting Crowe - who once went by the stage name in the headline - as Noah in his upcoming biblical epic Noah. Shortly after Variety responded with its own piece of news that director Jose Padilha had tweeted that Crowe "MIGHT" star in his upcoming reboot of RoboCop.

Katherine Heigl To Star In A Thriller About Face Blindness.
Deadline bring word that Katherine Heigl is both starring in and producing the indie thriller Face Blind. As the title suggests it is about a person who can't distinguish any difference between people's faces thus making her face blind. Heigl will star as a psychologist who suffers from face blindness who then gets stalked by a stalker but can't tell who the stalker that is stalking her is because of her face blindness.

Director Joe Johnston Takes $97.5Million Budget Cut
Joe Johnston has signed on to direct the micro-budget thriller Not Safe For Work, reports Heat Vision. This is a big change for Johnston, who directed Captain America: The First Avenger and Jurassic Park III, as he normally has budgets of around $100million plus to play with.

Hollywood Reckons You Want To See A 'Jackie Brown' Prequel...
Variety brings the scoop that a prequel to Jackie Brown is underway. The film will be adapted from crime novelist Elmore Leonard's 1978 book Switch, itself the prequel to his book Rum Punch, which had its name changed to Jackie Brown when Q.T adapted it for the big screen. You follow? Anyway, the film is about Robert De Niro's and Samuel L. Jackson's criminal characters Louis Gara and Ordell Robbie. Obviously being a prequel De Niro and Jackson aren't suitable for the parts, so instead Deadwood star John Hawkes and Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy star Mos Def will take on the roles.

Chronicle Director Doesn't Know If He's Rebooting 'Fantastic Four' Or Not.
Rumours that Chronicle director Josh Trank is Fox's pick to reboot their dormant Fantastic Four franchise have been doing the rounds for a while now, and now MTV have straight asked him about it. "I really have nothing to say about [Fantastic Four] because I know as much about this as everyone else," he told them. "I'm just working on my own original stuff right now."

Makers Of 'Saw' Franchise Now Turning Their Other Film 'Insidious' Into A Franchise.
The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that small budget horror Insidious is getting a sequel and that the creative team behind it, Saw's James Wan and Leigh Whannell, will both be returning for it. Insidious was one of last year's success stories as it was made with a budget of only $1.5million, bur returned over $155million worldwide.

Today In Menaces That Are Phantom In Nature: The fancy whiz bang 3D version comes out next week, for now here's a less fancy, less 3D version to tie you over until then...

Today In Trivia: In 1982 producer Ivan Reitman and his partners secured the rights to The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and had the novel's author Douglas Adams submit three scripts to them. Their plan was for either Bill Murray or Dan Aykroyd to play character Ford Prefect, but before anything could be secured Aykroyd sent them his own movie idea. They loved it and quickly dropped Hitchhikers in favour of going with Aykroyd's idea for a movie about a team of Ghostbusters.

Today's Bad Movie Tagline: The tagline for Russell Crowe's 1991 drama Proof: "Before love comes trust. Before trust comes proof". Before proof comes accusation. Before accusation comes hate. Before hate comes anger. Before anger comes fear. And fear is the path to the dark side.

Happy Birthday!: To Brent Spiner, aka Star Trek: The Next Generation's comic relief Data, who turns 63 today.
