From the director of About a Boy comes this Oscar-nominated drama about a working-class father’s struggle to give his son the opportunities he never had.
Carlos (Demián Bichir), a mild-mannered gardener and illegal immigrant from Mexico, tries to keep his son Luis (José Julián) distant from the allure of East LA gangs and the interference of immigration officials. Despite Luis’ wavering feelings towards his culture and family, Carlos attempts to understand him, in the hope of granting him a greater chance at life.
