Armed with no motorcycle experience and an HD camera four fellas from small-town Whakatane, New Zealand, decided to screw the job, the good advice and the horror stories of Africa and set off on the adventure of a life time - crossing the length of the mighty African continent, on motorbikes most wouldn't ride to the cow shed.
Countless border crossings, rogue animals, debilitating bouts of diarrhea and about three thousand seventy two pot holes later, they bring you African Odyssey - a full length documentary that captures the joy of adventure, Africa, motorbikes and sharing it all with friends.
I apologise, we feel bad, but there's no trailer available. ~Ed.
Enjoyed the showing, would love to do similar. Am trying to find out the music used in the movie, anyone know what it is?
The only bad thing about this doco is that you will want to quit your job and embark on an adventure of a life time too.
all the people making a point about the fact that these guys didn't delve deeper into the whole 'african' experience, bringing in the poverty, AIDS etc etc, you'd be advised that knowing that Africa is not a COUNTRY but a CONTINENT and is made up of LOTS of different countries, each with their own unique problems and situations. It would have had to have been a twenty hour doco to get through that much info.
This movie has an awesome soundtrack, and is a great ride. Arm-chair travel at it's finest.
Good for newbie to motorbike travel adventure. Highlights were amazing animal and some good historic site footage. Most interesting the problems overcome with the bikes and travel. Seemed to fly by, could have gone deeper for sure, but interesting light and entertaining viewing. I enjoyed it. I was surprised by the levels of poverty shown in Africa, sure it was a bit colonial but it was really just a quick drive (6 months from South to North Africa) and I thick inspiring to see the team comraderie and good goal achieved with the film record.
