I apologise, we feel bad, but there's no trailer available. ~Ed.
Silly film but hillarious as Jack black is a guy whos body magneticely wipes all the videtapes in his friends shop and they quickly come up with a way to get them all back by making there own versions of ghostbusters driving miss daisy etc so stupid you have to laugh
Gondry delivers again, perhaps not the knock out punch of some of his last films, but a four star Gondry film is a 248 star Ron Howard, Ridlel Scott or some other less deserving but more heralded directors effort!
Another gem from Michel Gondry, and what a cast! I bought the DVD and as usual with Gondry there are some pretty good extras in it. We discover Mos Def as a pretty decent jazz singer in Paris with Gondry at the drums for instance. About the movie? Gondry is a craftman working his magic, anyone willing to become a movie maker should watch this. It is simple, immensely creative, crazy sometimes but humanist... and funny. The remake of Ghostbusters is hilarious like the rest of the movie. I felt like a kid watching a puppeteer in action. People (like myself) always complain about so many bad movies invading our screens, well maybe some theatres should dare to encourage this particular type of cinema. From the last three Gondry (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and The Silence of Sleep) Be Kind Rewind is the most accessible to a larger audience.
I see this film has a short season. what a travesty. No one else can nail the homemade craftsy aesthetic like gondry. his films are quaint yet clever and so funny. It's so nice so see a film maker that doesn't seem like he needs to show off. 'be kind rewind' is by no means an academic film, it's charming. A reminder of all that is great about the films we love and what they mean to us.
