First of all if you havent seen ther first Clerks then go out and rent it its really is a cult classic shot in black in white about a bunch of slcakers in there twenties with Kevin Smith as Silent Bob and Jay so many funny intertwined story lines this is a follown on about these slackers but set 10 yrs later now in there thirties there still a bunch of no hopers The funniest and sickest scene is with The donkey Jay arranges for a party Kevin Smith your a funny funny man youll either love this or loathe it theres no in between .
Clerks was a big part of my, and many other's, teenage years. Clerks 2 gives the story a good continuation, and probably an end. The antics of Dante and Randall just get better and better as the movie runs. With spirited conversations about the Transformers, an on-going argument about which is the better trilogy; Star Wars or Lord of the Rings, and the insane grand finale with the Donkey, it continues to keep you interested and wanting more when the credits roll. This movie, in my opinion, was even better than the first, while veering a bit to another side: It actually had a bit of a plot. I recommend this move to all who saw the first one, and all who haven't.
Ultimately, Smith finally achieves that perfect balance between humor and heart that he's been dancing towards with all his films...
It has enough laughs, character arcs, politically incorrect rants and a satisfying emotional ending to more than justify this whim on Smith's part...
But it's largely rambling and only fitfully funny, throwing in music montages and a dance sequence in an effort to shake itself out of its self-induced stupor...
Part of the Clerks charm was that Kevin Smith made it for $27,000, and a bigger budget doesn't really help this kind of tale's authenticity...
Any movie featuring a guy who has sex with a donkey -- he calls it "interspecies erotica" -- cannot be accused of playing it safe. You too may want to see if a dude with a mouthful of donkey spunk really swallows...
