Ferrari: Red Footprints

Ferrari, a company in its 7th decade, is a household brand and an icon, and for some, a religion. This documentary sets out to describe how the Ferrari brand has become modern legend and what it has done to enhance that image over the past 15 years.

The story is told through interviews with the likes of Luca Cordero di Montezemolo, currently Chairman of Ferrari, previously President from 1991 – 2005, and prior to that Sports Manager, in charge of the Formula 1 team; Jean Todt, recently CEO, prior to that the manager of the Formula 1 activities; Michael Schumacher; Piero Ferrari, son of Enzo; and factory technical and production managers.

Images include footage taken from the initial races of Ferrari in the 40’s, through to the 21st century; views the new factory complex and the creation of ‘Formula Man’; the test track; the creation, assembly and testing of production and race cars; plus many of the drivers from the past 30 years. These all portray Ferrari, the company and the ideal, as one that is completely focused on the pursuit of perfection that blends the ultimate in technology and the spirit and elegance of the artisan.
