Miley Stewart struggles to juggle school, friends and her secret pop-star persona Hannah Montana. When Montana’s soaring popularity threatens to take over her life – she just might let it. So her father (real-life dad Billy Ray Cyrus) takes the teen home to the countryside in Tennessee, for a dose of reality, kicking off an adventure filled with the kind of fun, laughter and romance even Hannah Montana couldn't imagine.
Hannah and Miley were last seen in The Best Of Both Worlds - a 3D concert film which sold-out weeks before its release.
This film is reviewed by Flicks.co.nz's newest and youngest critics: the Goodchild family! Mum Rachel Goodchild and her daughters Susie (8), Becky (6) and Emily (3).
Ok, admittedly I love Disney movies, and it's times like this I'm thankful I have three girls to give me an excuse for seeing them. Especially when I can enjoy country music unashamedly in the privacy of a darkened theatre.
With three girls who spend their time writing screenplays, songs and designing fashion labels, watching a movie about a girl who struggles with both a famous and public persona and her down to earth roots is pretty cool. It's nice to take them to a movie where the main character gets the life of fame but maintains her innocence. Big thumbs up from me – and we're going again! (but don't tell anyone!)
Susie (8): I loved the music and the humour in it. I felt the sad bits were important to the movie, though the saddest part was that the movie ended. I can't wait to see it again – going to ask Aunty Katie to take us. I'm pretty sure it's a girl movie – the boys in my class might not think it's as much fun as I did!
Becky (6): Hannah Montana had lots of funny parts, although sometimes it was a little sad. My favourite part had to be when she realised the cows were the only ones watching her and she didn't have any fans nearby. I'd like to be Hannah as long as I got some time to be Miley as well.
Emily (3): Well, I liked the popcorn.

I live in Lumberton, Texas and i used to like it but now there adding stuff to it and its just not home anymore so when i saw the movie and how pretty it was and how opened it is thats what made me cry but i did cry about the movie to.
Lazy but functional tween fare.
There are sufficient pratfalls and Miley/Hannah quick-changes to satisfy the fans, while Cyrus retains that natural, unforced likability that made her a star in the first place.
In the end, Hannah Montana: The Movie is big, beautiful, a little boring and utterly safe. There are flashes of inspiration -- the "Hoedown Throwdown" dance, the scenes between Martindale and the Cyruses -- but it also is what it is: Miley Cyrus' next big step.
It's just as awesome as the tv show only bigger and prettier.
Hands down the most inoffensive, harmless and wholesome entertainment you'll find these holidays.
