Nickelodeon present this family dog tale. 16-year-old Andi (Roberts) and her younger brother Bruce (Austin) are new residents at a foster home with a strict no-pets policy: problematic for their dog, Friday. They stumble upon an abandoned hotel and begin transforming into a home - by way of Bruce's sensational inventions - not just for Friday but for all the city's homeless canines. But the local pound isn't impressed with this monopoly on stray dogs...

Hotel For Dogs has 'something to say' and isn't afraid to have fun saying it. High-minded adults will probably give the film a wide berth based on its title, not realising their decision makes Hotel's message all the more poignant. Strays, orphans and abandoned buildings are used throughout to remind a young audience that one man's rubbish is another man's treasure. Parents wanting to discuss sharing and recycling with their kids will be glad to find many points of reference in this picture. Enough about the metaphors though, let's discuss the canines: they're the film's raison d'etre.
Purebreds and mutts mingle effortlessly, each playing up to the stereotypes associated with their breeds. Director Thor Freudenthal proudly shows off his impressive cast and he never forgets who the real stars are. It is one of the largest dog ensembles captured on film and, thankfully, they do all their own stunts. With CGI kept to a minimum, a few chase sequences must have required hours of toil from the crew. Their hard work paid off with highly polished visuals and a nicely paced selection of gags.
Hotel For Dogs is a fun school-holiday treat. If you're not a dog-owner yet, be warned that the kids will demand you are soon.

i think thiss movie is the bst since its got the girl from wild child in it and wild child is great
it was cool but it was borring when the dogs got locked up,plus it was borring in the drammatic part
well it was a good movie it was a litle boring i heard it got a poor movie rating that's why i never watched it i watched it my drama class poor i just liked the dogs :)

It's a pretty lazy film in the creativity department save for the dogs.
Predictable and cute - perfect as long as you're under 10, in human years.
Ultimately warm and furry, with a wet nose buried in gross receipts.
