Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth) throws together a one-off supergroup of three guitarists from strikingly different genres and generations in a celebration of the ultimate rock instrument. The players are Jimmy Page, who defined the classic rock guitar sound in The Yardbirds and Led Zeppelin; U2's The Edge, whose chiming, delay and reverb-drenched deedle-deedle-deedle guitar textures are instantly recognisable; and Delta blues-influenced young gun, the twitchy Jack White from the White Stripes.
Discussing with each other the defining musical moments that incited their passion for the guitar, they teach each other riffs and nerd out over records and instruments. The Edge is a complete riot when he demonstrates what his rudimentary guitar riffs really sound like when they're not swathed in digital delay effects. The film is riddled with alternately hilarious and genuine goosebump moments; expect a bit of ‘white man's overbite’ and plenty of widdly guitar workouts. (Souce: NZ International Film Festival)

Wow!... Took 30 years off my life and yet JP nears 70...
Just great to see three completely different guitar players come together like that. Really great film for and musicain / guitar player to see the evolution of electric guitar, and getting broken down again to it roots.
As a total guitar freak I completely and utterly "nerd'ed" out to this movie. I walked in not knowing what to expect other than three awesome musicians hanging out, and I walked out at the end in stunned amazement. It made me go home and pick up my guitar and get the same feeling I did when I learnt my first song. Ill see this again at the general release. Ill buy DVD, and then probably go and get the Led out!
It's incredibly uplifting to watch three so very different adult men in their passion. I loved this film. There wasn't a whole lotta music actually...it's cut quickly, so you're jumping around all over the place from one to the other, but it works. I came out with the huge smile on my face, buzzing for the rest of the day!
I thoroughly enjoyed this experience with these three guitarists....the humour, the passion, the chats, the riffs, the deedle deedle deedles thanks to edge and the smirk on Jack Whites face when Jimmy Page starting playing Whole Lotta Love in front of him was priceless, like a kid meeting Santa....brilliant..
It Might Get Loud offers a thrilling personal tour of three exceptional electric guitarists' careers that's equally appealing to musicians and rock enthusiasts alike.
In nearly every moment, an incredibly rich mix of their music, groundbreaking, defining, which alone would almost be enough. That It Might Get Loud comes with a righteous story too is a lovely bonus.
Does this sound like rock heaven? It is.
Musically and visually sumptuous.
