Drama about a 13-year-old girl whose former-groupie mother abandons her, leaving her with the fading rock star father she's never met. Stars Abigail Breslin (Little Miss Sunshine), Elizabeth Shue (Leaving Las Vegas) and Alessandro Nivola (Face/Off).
Before entering rehab ex-groupie Mary Ann (Shue) confronts fading rock star Ethan (Nivola), telling him he is a father, and then leaves Janie (Breslin) in his care. Half way through a tour, Ethan struggles to keep his band together and find time for his daughter while Janie finds it difficult to accept having this guy as her dad. Through a shared passion for music, the pair gradually come to realise they are the only family they have.
The film debuted at the Toronto Film Festival, 2010, with critics applauding Breslin and Nivola's many musical performances throughout the film.
