I would never have gone if I'd known what it was supposed to be about. For the first ten minutes I thought, "I'm leaving. This is crap (literally and metaphorically!)... but then I found myself smiling, and smiling and laughing. This was a truly touching, warm funny, human, film. The night I went, there were only about 30-40 people in the theatre but the ages ranged from early teens to 60+. You could looked around at any time through the movie and EVERYBODY was smiling or laughing or chuckling. But there were no cliches, no forced humour, no slapstick - or even any smut. Kenny was just a truly likeable fellow who you befriended and laughed with rather than at as he struggled over lifes bumps. I thoroughly recommend this movie to anybody who wants simply to feel good for an hour or two of their lives. It must have been a amazing sight for the outside world as we all streamed out of that dark theatre at the end - a river of smiles and sparkling eyes!
'KENNY' IS A MOCKUMENTARY OF THE TRIALS AND TRIUBATIONS OF AN ORDINARY AUSSIE BLOKE DOING WHAT HE DOES BEST: EARNING AN HONEST LIVING, BEING A HARDWORKING AND DECENT PERSON AND A LOVING SON AND FATHER. IF YOU DON'T MIND A BIT OF 'DOWN-TO-EARTH' HUMOUR, YOU'LL FIND 'KENNY' WARM-HEARTED AND WITTY AND THE CENTRAL CHARACTER THOROUGHLY ENGAGING. (NOT A MOVIE FOR YOUNG CHILDREN).
An amusing film with some fantastic one-liners and a couple of nice sequences but over all doesn’t deliver. Lacks a strong structure and runs out of material before the end, resulting in no real climax. If you’re a fan of mocumentaries or Aussie films then maybe worth a look but definitely not to everyone’s taste, with at least six people walked out of my screening.

Kenny is hilarious - toilet humour and all - and surprisingly touching. Just remember to wash your hands afterwards...
Funny enough to give scatology a good name, Aussie mockumentary "Kenny" is a consistently amusing and surprisingly touching portrait of a loveable lug who installs toilet blocks at public events...
