Gerard Depardieu draws you in and really makes you feel for his character. This film wasn't what I was expecting but I really enjoyed its quirkiness
I left feeling slightly tampered with. Not one to watch with your Mum.
A quirky road-trip movie with things to say. A return to form for Depardieu too.
The black comedies of Gustave Kervern and Benoît Delépine combine intense Frenchness with a kind of Anglo-American comedy-sensibility, something of Adam McKay or Ricky Gervais. Mammuth is their best yet...
Comprising a string of great visual and situational jokes before it suddenly self-destructs during the final third of its running time, "Mammuth" is a good example of a film that could have been.
Make a note of the names Delépine and de Kervern. That way you can avoid them in future.
Belgian filmmakers Benoît Delépine and Gustave Kervern return with an often surreal road movie, which blends social commentary with deadpan humour.
