The Gay Divorcee

The 1934 screwball musical comedy, based on the stage musical of the same name, starring Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers (their second collaboration).

The plot sees Mimi Glossop (Rogers) arrive in England to seek a divorce from her geologist husband. Under the guidance of her domineering Aunt Hortense, a lawyer convinces Mimi to arrange to be 'caught' in an adulterous fling to aid the process. But by coincidence, a visiting American dancer called Guy (Astaire) arrives at the hotel, only to mistaken by Mimi for her correspondent in the scheme...
